Job Opening for Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose:

The primary roles for this position are to: participate in satellite systems design, engineering support services, training activities and take direction from a senior level engineer or manager; participate in delivering engineering services including design, testing, troubleshooting and analysis; work alongside peers to drive innovative program and solutions; and complete engineering projects in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner. Position will be based in Plano Texas.

Job Duties:

  • Provide high level engineering support to customers, sales and operations for satellite communications, including testing, system design, troubleshooting, documenting solutions and applying principles of electrical, physics and material science
  • Assure system and product quality by designing test methods, testing finished product and system capabilities, and confirming assembly and installation process.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Troubleshoot design or fabrication problems with electrical and electromechanical systems, identify root cause of problems, and develop and implement creative and pragmatic solutions
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Produce technically sound designs which meet contract requirements, good engineering practices and solve the customer’s needs and/or problems
  • Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technologies and trends in electrical engineering and suggest product improvement ideas
  • Travel (up to 25%) may be required as needed, including both domestic and international
  • Provide high level technical support to customers and other departments
  • Provide training and mentoring to employees and customers
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program
  • Excellent electrical aptitude
  • RF Knowledge
  • Hands on, mechanical aptitude is a plus
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching
  • CAD design software a plus (AutoCAD, Draftsight, Visio, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management Tools (Solidworks PDM) a plus
  • Experience integrating electromechanical components in custom enclosures
  • Ability to solve non-routine problems by integrating relevant resources
  • Ability to work effectively both as an individual contributor and as a member of cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with aggressive program schedules
  • Ability to prioritize and support multiple tasks
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance upon hire
